Participant Profile for
Ellen Coenra
Last Updated: July 10, 2009

I am from Perth, Australia and I am 34 years old.  I’ve been skydiving for 9 years and have made 2300 skydives during that time.
My professional occupation is Engineer.

My Biography:
I was born in Amsterdam and moved to New Zealand (via a short stop in America for 6 months) with my family at age 8. I completed my university education in New Zealand and then decided to go explore the world. Made it as far as Perth, Western Australia and fell in love with the place and the people. Oh yeah, the weather is not bad either! Have lived here now for 11 years, married one of the locals (also a skydiver) and got my Australian citizenship.

My Hobbies & Other Interests:
Skydiving, wine, reading, walking, driving our 1965 Bedford bus around the country.

Why I feel it’s important to participate in JFTC:
JFTC is important to me because having recently had a family member diagnosed has really bought home the fact that this is something that really does affect so many people. It's not just the person with the cancer, their friends and family are also affected. Promoting awareness and raising funds to find solutions as well as help support all those affected is a way in which we as a group can make a difference that matters. I also love the fact JFTC builds friendships, provides so much positive energy and demonstrates that women really can do anything and everything they set their minds to.
