I am from Americus, Georgia United States of America and I am 31 years old.  I’ve been skydiving for 6 years and have made 680 skydives during that time.
My professional occupation is Athletic Director - Georgia Southwestern State University.

My Biography:
I am a former college Athlete turned Athletic Trainer turned Athletic Director. My primary profession as an athletic trainer made me responsible for the health and performance of 170 college athletes, but I am now responsible for all daily operations of an NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic program. I am the first female AD at my school, within the conference, and one of only 55 in Division II... so I certainly a proponent of women leading the way!

I am a perfectionist who loves to accept a challenge and beat it, so I am not afraid of hard work. Unfortunately I am also a poor delegator so I usually end up doing a lot of things myself because I insist that they get done right... and that makes me a workaholic. But I do know the value of Teamwork and I believe in leading by example, so it's important that I never ask anyone to do something I wouldn't be willing to do myself.

On the lighter side, I do love to laugh and have fun. I believe in the WORK HARD, PLAY HARD principle... so this is where Skydiving enters my life:

I made my first jump in 2003... but my heart has been in it since 1997 when I first saw canopies over Skydive Deland. As much as it made my mother cringe, it looked like an amazing rush that I would love -- and I was right! It took me a while to reach a point in my life where I was able to give it a try, but there's been no looking back in 5 years.

I was slow building my jump numbers until I was fortunate enough to find myself at the School of Human Flight in Quincy, Florida. It was there that I met my eventual boyfriend (and love of my life) and became acquainted with a group I affectionately refer to as the "Tree People." They welcomed me in with open arms and eventually even let me jump with them! My arrival at JFTC is due in a very large part to their support -- thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The best things in my life outside of skydiving: my boyfriend, my family (2 great parents, 2 brothers & 2 sisters-in-law, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, my Granny who thinks I'm crazy for jumping, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins), my friends, my 2 cats, my job, my coworkers, and my student-athletes.

My Hobbies & Other Interests:
First and foremost, I am into anything and everything I can do to spend time with the wonderful man in my life. :-)

Of course I love Skydiving, or "jumping out of perfectly good airplanes" as all my friends put it... When I am not in the air (or at work) I love to Read. I may even write my own book someday. I have also taken up scuba diving and kayaking, and even kart racing. I am working on a pilot's license as well. And whenever I travel I pick up a post card to send to my nieces & nephew: Natalie, Avery, Elise, and Aidan.

Why I feel it’s important to participate in JFTC:
JFTC has been a goal and personal challenge to me for over a year -- I wanted to prove to myself that I could make it. But to take something I love and use it to make a difference -- to see over 150 women join together to make this world a better place -- what an awesome opportunity!
