Participant Profile for Pam Riggs Last Updated: September 14, 2009
I am from Williamstown, New Jersey United States of America and I am 42 years old. I’ve been skydiving for 14 years and have made 2500+ skydives during that time. My professional occupation is Manager, Square 3, Inc..
My Biography: This will be my third Jump for the Cause event, and I am as excited as ever before. Being a survivor of a different form of cancer, one that is easily detected and very recently has even become preventable, I feel especially drawn to raise awareness and money to help do the same for breast cancer.
My Hobbies & Other Interests: Outside of skydiving I enjoy cooking, travel, and being on or near the ocean. When at home, my cats and I like to teach our African Gray to say fun things to amuse my friends and neighbors.
Why I feel it’s important to participate in JFTC: JFTC 2009 will surely be the most successful and emotional event our sport has ever seen. The strength and support of the women and men around JFTC is simply incredible. I am excited to be sharing the experience this year with my partner, Andrew. Much love and many thanks to all who have supported me in the 8 years of this endeavor.
I was called to do this event in 2002 as my Aunt Kate was battling breast cancer. Now I do it not only for Aunt Kate, but also my Mamaw, Mary, Barb, Kathy, Patty, Susie, Coach K and many others who have fought or are fighting. Some are winning, some have already lost. But at the end of day, and the end of the event, the best reason of all is for THE RESULT: helping a facility on the front line of breast cancer research detection and treatment, and the hope of ending this disease.
It is an honor to be a part of something so dyanamic, something that has such a real and visible impact. I want to personally thank each and every one of you for helping me reach my goal of raising over $5000 this year. Donate now to help your moms, sisters, daughters, and other women and men who may be affected by breast cancer.
Times are tough for many of us right now, but cancer doesn't care. We must fight on. Donate today and Be the Cure.
