Participant Profile for Sarah (Smith) Cannon Last Updated: September 11, 2009
I am from Hampshire, United Kingdom and I am 32 years old. I’ve been skydiving for 9 years and have made 2,800 skydives during that time. My professional occupation is Skydiver.
My Biography: I started skydiving as a hobby in 1999 and soon started to love the sport. A few years later, in 2006 I got the bug for 4 way and have since become female World Champion (2008) and two-time British National Champion (2007 & 2008) with the British National team, Bodyflight Storm. I plan to continue with both 4 way and 8 way competitively, and also to branch out into other areas of the sport - starting with the Jump for the Cause!!
My Hobbies & Other Interests: Triathlon, horse riding, snowboarding, scuba diving... Any sports really! I've just qualified to be a personal trainer, so that I can help others to get fit and enjoy sports. I also enjoy renovating houses.
Why I feel it’s important to participate in JFTC: I feel enormously privileged to have been able to achieve what I have in my sport, and am very aware that I would not have been able to do this without the huge amount of help and support from friends, family and sponsors. I would like to give something back and to have the opportunity to do this through the sport that I love is truly wonderful.
I have always enjoyed actively getting involved with raising money and awareness for charitable causes and this one rocks!
