Participant Profile for Laura Kraus Last Updated: June 19, 2009
I am from Kensington, Maryland United States of America and I am 33 years old. I’ve been skydiving for 11 years and have made 1200 skydives during that time. My professional occupation is Account Technology Consultant for EMC.
My Biography: I was born at home in 1975 and came close to being delivered by Patch Adams. He was 5 minutes late for the exciting moment. I grew up in the DC area where my love for adventure thrived. I started skydiving in 1998 and since then it has changed my life. Few other sports have the kind of passion, support, camaraderie and amazing people that are found in the skydiving community.
My Hobbies & Other Interests: I have many passions in life. I love adventure that takes me into the outdoors but also adore a nice evening at the movies. I enjoy a good geeking-out session over some new technology and have an incredible love and interest in gear of all sorts. My husband and I are in the process of expanding our family and we are both getting a kick out of all the baby gear. I have realized that the new nursery is really just a new room to store baby gear. I look forward to the opportunity to share all my love and passion for adventure with my new son.
Why I feel it’s important to participate in JFTC: Through the JFTC event I can help inspire other women and bring hope to the world. With our fund raising we can help make a difference by supporting City of Hope which is an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Together we can make a difference.
